I have lived my life
as an out of body experience
until I am reminded
of the skin that I am in
I don’t see myself as any different than you
until you point it out
I am always looking for connections
but most people aren’t
They’re looking to stand out
Diversity
is a word that we use to explain the differences in our opinions
in our thoughts
I’m not saying sort each other into piles
I mean to say,
you are more than your body
Diversity may be the death of us all
When you connect with a mind
a heart
a soul
you’ll find there is so much more to everyone
than their body
Because one day this body is going to grow cold
But your spirit will remain white hot
It glows
It glimmers
It glistens
So while you are in your body
Take time
take care
Look people in the eye
search for the glimmer
because it’s there
